What to Expect

It’s data season at IMPLAN HQ! Download our webinar as we take a closer look at the 2023 data.

Each year, IMPLAN’s economists work diligently to compile the latest data from a wide range of sources, fill in gaps in the raw data, balance the data across all geographic levels, and more, empowering users to make their analyses more accurate and timely.

In this insightful conversation, IMPLAN Chief Economist and Data Officer Jenny Thorvaldson, Ph.D., and Data Development Specialist and Support Economist Wesley Morgan explore highlights from the new data set, including:

Incorporation of New BEA Benchmark I-O Tables: Every 5 years, the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) releases a comprehensive revision and update to its Benchmark Input-Output (I-O) tables. These tables are a critical component of IMPLAN’s annual U.S.-based datasets, serving as a base for annual production for the subsequent 5 years. The release of new Benchmark tables provides many important updates to the base data used for many data elements in IMPLAN’s annual U.S.-based models.

Update to IMPLAN’s Sectoring Scheme: The combination of industry expansions and deprecations has resulted in an updated IMPLAN industry count of 528.

This webinar will help you unlock the nuances of this year’s data, providing you with:

    • Deep, Actionable Insights: Whether you’re focused on policy impact, economic development, or industry trends, this year’s data will help you uncover the most beneficial next steps.
    • Precision: Discover how changes in industry classifications and the updated 528 sectors can bring new precision to your models.
    • Competitive Edge: Hear from the experts on how the timeliness and increased accuracy of the new data gives you an advantage over your competitors.
